Nick Pratt is a UX designer who now ships PRs, based in the Chicago suburbs. He is currently building Mage Legal (YC S24)⁠, legal AI for M&A so attorneys can review deals in days, not weeks.

Previously, he pitched and consulted on a UX overhaul of internal tools at Life Time⁠, worked on a design team making laundry day actually enjoyable with Whirlpool⁠, and rethought a legacy product as an intern while consolidating the team’s research library at Honeywell Technologies⁠. He also represented his university to thousands of visitors a year at SCAD⁠, where he later graduated Summa Cum Laude and celebrated being the first in his family to graduate with a bachelor’s degree.

His senior capstone has just been awarded a Red Dot, earned an honorable mention in Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas⁠, and was named a finalist in the International Design Excellence Awards.

He is drawn to and inspired by design languages that feel perfectly simple. His natural eye for design, authentic empathy for people, native drive for exploration, and never-ending love for learning has shaped his design philosophy today.
